AIDS Committee of London

At^Lohsa Native Family Healing Service

At^Lohsa is a multi-faceted service that promotes the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health needs and healing paths of First Nation women, men and children in violent relationships.

The Zhaawanong Shelter offers 24 hr emergency shelter to First Nation women and their children. In addition, the Family Support Unit, Elders Circle & Teaching Program, Community Education Training and Prevention Program, and Drop In Centre provide support and hope.

Brescia University College

Brescia University College is Canada's only university level college for women. Shaping and supporting women in leadership, it fosters new ways of thinking and living, helping women develop capacity and their strengths to fulfill their potential. Involved in highlighting the Neighbours, Friends and Families campaign, the staff and students of Brescia also annually host the December 6th memorial service to the victims of the Montreal massacre, and are involved in grassroots activism to effect lasting change in the lives of women.

Changing Ways

Changing Ways offers group counseling for men wishing to end their abusive behaviour towards women and children. This comprises all forms of abuse including emotional, psychological, verbal, sexual, or physical. By looking at how they use power and control, men are challenged to take responsibility for their behaviour to prevent further abuses to their families. In addition, Changing Ways offers a partner support program for women to assist in safety planning and direction to appropriate community resources.

Daya Counselling Centre

Daya Counselling Centre is a community-based agency providing individual, couple, and family counseling for persons age 16 and older. Daya, Sanskrit for compassion, honours the whole person - body, mind, and spirit - with non judgment, supporting your healing, growth and recovery. Family Networks

Family Networks is a neighbourhood-based support service that helps strengthen families, assisting them in developing a support plan, and providing access to community resources and services. Using trained Mentors, families are given support, assistance, guidance and advocacy. This service is for families who have children under 16 years of age, are struggling with poverty, violence, abuse or mental health issues, and who are involved or may become involved with Children's Aid Society and require additional support.

Family Service Thames Valley

Family Service Thames Valley provides affordable professional counselling and therapeutic groups for individuals, couples, and families in London and Middlesex. Our services help people to address a range of concerns including: life stress, times of transition, change, and loss; difficulties in personal, or couple relationships; emotional and psychological distress; and the impact of trauma or abuse. Service is provided in several languages with the help of interpreters. Fees are based on a sliding scale and no one is refused service based on the ability to pay.

John Howard Society

The John Howard Society provides outreach, a drop in crisis intervention service, and counselling to men and women at risk of becoming involved in criminal activity, those who have committed a criminal offence and are facing trial, and those who have been sentenced to probation. In addition, the JHS supports extended families that have a loved one in the criminal justice system, as well as providing community education programs on issues related to criminal justice and the correctional system.

London Family Court Clinic

The Centre for Children and Families in the Justice System at the London Family Court Clinic provides a wide range of services including child welfare assessment, clinical consultation and support, parenting coordination service for separated or divorced parents, and youth justice and mental health support. In addition to providing counseling to children and adolescents, through the Child Witness Project, the centre also helps prepare and support children and adolescents called to testify as victims or witnesses in criminal court in cases of physical or sexual abuse or domestic violence.

Madame Vanier Children's Services

Regional Mental Health Care

Rotholme Women's & Family Shelter

Rotholme is a 41-bed facility that accommodates two parent and single parent families, both male and female led, and single women who have no other shelter options. Twenty four hour emergency admission is provided for those who are homeless or in crisis and require emergency shelter and care. Crisis counseling is available and clients are referred to community agencies to help them plan an appropriate support plan.

Sexual Assault Centre London

The Sexual Assault Centre London provides services to women 16 years of age and over who have experienced any form of sexual violence, including childhood sexual abuse, adult or recent sexual assault and sexual harassment. Women's Community House

Provides a safe space - emergency housing, second stage housing and transitional support for abused women and their children. They offer accommodation, counseling and a 24 hour support line. There are a total of 67 beds at the two shelters, and no charge for your stay. While in the shelter, women - and their children - are offered counseling and safety planning, and help to take steps towards a life free of violence.

WOTCH Community Mental Health Services
